With a few touches, you can quickly combine two or more iPhone images into a single picture or collage using Apple’s Shortcuts app. There’s no need for outside photo-editing software. This is the method.

Even while Apple Photos has improved with time, many people still utilize third-party photo-editing programs to combine many photographs into a single file. You most likely already have the Apple Shortcuts app installed on your phone as an additional option.

The free Shortcuts app can help you automate or do some chores more quickly, as the name would imply. Here’s how to combine photos on the iPhone using it.
Launch the Shortcuts app or get its download from the App Store to get started. You can add dozens of pre-made Apple shortcuts to your phone in addition to the possibility to make custom shortcuts of your own. You’ll need to make a new shortcut in order to merge photographs, but once it’s configured, all you’ll need to do is choose the pictures you wish to combine.

Click the addition (+) symbol located in the upper right corner of the screen on the Shortcuts tab. After choosing the title (New Shortcut), hit Rename. Put “Merge Photo Horizontal” as the name of your shortcut so you can locate it quickly in the future. (To create an additional shortcut for vertical merges, select Select Photos after searching for “photo” in the search field.)

Toggle the Select Multiple switch to the “on” position after selecting the arrow button next to Select Photos to reveal the drop-down menu. After that, return to the bottom of the screen’s search box, type “image” into it, and select Combine Images. Although it is initially configured to merge photos horizontally, you can alternatively choose to combine them vertically or in a grid.

Perform another search for “photo,” select Save picture to Album, and press Done. Finally, confirm that your shortcut appears in the shared sheet. Hold down the shortcut icon that you made, select Details, and then turn on Show in Share Sheet. To add the shortcut to your phone’s Home screen, you may also select Add to Home Screen here.

You’ve just made a shortcut on your iPhone that will allow it to automatically combine images in a horizontal fashion and store the result in your Camera Roll. Here’s how to activate that shortcut whenever you require it.

Open the Photos app, choose any picture, and combine them into one. Once you tap the Share icon located at the bottom left of your screen, the Merge Photo Horizontal shortcut that you just made will appear. After choosing it, locate the pictures you wish to combine.

Select two or more images and arrange them left to right in the order you wish them to appear. When you select Add in the upper right corner of the screen, your phone will immediately combine and store the images. Take a look at your Camera Roll to view the completed image.
Remember that the final result might not seem right when placed next to a full-sized photo if you crop one image to make it smaller. The same holds true for orientation. A vertical and a horizontal image will appear next to one other in varying sizes if you use the horizontal merge shortcut to merge them.
