On June 8th, the abbot of the Nature Sanctuary in Thanyin Township, Yangon Region, Rabbi Uttamathara, visited the home of Tharu Oo Tin Oo, one of the patrons of the National League for Democracy, and told Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to retire from politics.
Regarding this matter, the monks of the Saffron Revolution told The Irrawaddy that they saw that Uttamathara was only lobbying the army, and that the army was using the monk because the army was shaken by the revolution.
